Pharmacy Qualification
  • A Bachelor of Pharmacy degree or an overseas qualification assessed as equivalent by the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand (PCNZ).
Registration with the PCNZ

All practising pharmacists must be registered with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand.

If applying for the first time, you must meet all registration requirements under the HPCA Act 2003.

Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
  • Pharmacists must hold a current APC to work in New Zealand.

  • Thanks to the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Act (TTMRA), you can apply for registration quickly and easily.
  • You’ll need to complete 140 hours of supervised practice and a law and ethics interview within three months of registration.
