Job Title: Carpenter
Location: Nationwide
Position: Full time 30 hours + per week guaranteed, likely to work 40-50 hours per week
Wage Rate: $30 – $35 starting rate, pay rise reviews will apply once NZ work experience is obtained
Start Date: 2025 and 2026

As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for executing various carpentry tasks related to construction and renovation projects. Your primary role will be to bring your expertise and craftsmanship to the team, ensuring that all carpentry works are completed efficiently, accurately, and to the highest standards. You will collaborate closely with other team members and contribute to the successful delivery of projects.
Your primary role is to work with wood and other building materials to construct, install, and repair various structures and fixtures. Your duties and tasks may vary depending on your specialisation and the projects you’re working on.

Your Responsibilities:

Utilise your extensive knowledge and experience in carpentry to execute a wide range of construction tasks, including framing, roofing, formwork, flooring, and other structural elements.

Work collaboratively with the construction team to carry out carpentry tasks according to project plans and specifications, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.

Assist in the procurement and management of carpentry materials, ensuring proper usage and minimizing waste.

Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and promote a safe working environment. Report any potential hazards or incidents promptly.

Maintain a high level of workmanship and attention to detail, ensuring all carpentry work meets industry standards and client expectations.

Properly care for and maintain carpentry tools and equipment to ensure their longevity and safe operation.

Have excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective interaction with team members, supervisors, and clients to provide updates on project progress and address any concerns.

Staying up to date with relevant NZ building codes, regulations, and industry standards to ensure all work is in compliance with legal requirements.
Required Qualifications:

Possess a recognised trade qualification in carpentry

Possess at least 3 years of relevant carpentry experience in the construction industry

Demonstrate a strong understanding of carpentry techniques, materials, and tools.

Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to find practical solutions independently or as part of a team.

Prioritize safety at all times and adhere to construction site safety protocols.

Possess the physical strength and stamina required to perform manual labour associated with carpentry work.

Display a keen eye for detail, ensuring precision in all carpentry tasks.

Hold a valid driver’s license for potential travel to project sites.
